Abberton & District Cricket Club

Abberton & District Cricket Club

We are a family friendly, community based club located just outside Colchester. We have been playing cricket throughout Essex and Suffolk for over seventy years.

Most of our matches are played Saturdays and Sundays, and a local pub side make use of our ground during the week along with the Colts (Junior Players). On a match day the clubhouse bar is always open, why not come down and have a drink whilst supporting your local cricket club.

While we play every game to win, our first aim is to enjoy our cricket. We welcome players of all shapes, sizes and talents, whether they want to play one game or twenty games a season. After being promoted for the 2018 season we narrowly missed out on promotion coming 3rd in Division 3 of the Two Counties cricket league. We are aiming once again for promotion and recuriting for the 2019 Season.

A Quick Introduction

Club President

Hi, my name is Simon Swinn and I am both honoured and delighted to be President of Abberton and District Cricket Club. It is a wonderful club and is made up of so many different characters from all walks of life. Because of this it leaves me in no doubt that the future of the club, both on and off the field, will be every much as successful as its past. On behalf of all ADCC members,
Welcome to our website.

Club Chairman

Hi, my name is Marc Fox and I'm proud to be chairman of this fantastic cricket club. The club is a great place for all to meet new friends either on or off the field, and we are also lucky to have one of the best grounds in the Essex area to play or sit with a drink and watch the wonderful game of cricket. We as a club fully focus on being a great family and friendly place to be, we also have first class facilities for all to use. On behalf of everyone at ADCC welcome to our great website and always feel free to come and see us.

Club Captain

Hi my name is Matt Sullivan, it’s always been an ambition of mine to captain this great club since I first joined when I was 10! I'm very excited to see what 2019 holds for the lions and I'm sure we will keep moving forwards as we have been the last few seasons. Winning on the pitch and a great atmosphere to go with it makes the place very enjoyable! Please come and support the lads as much as you can, the extra support means a lot to all of the players.

Youth Development Coach

Hi my name is David Digby and I'm the head of coaching and colts co-ordinator. I oversee all junior cricket and player development at ADCC. We are fully accredited as ECB Clubmark. Our objective is to provide an enjoyable, friendy and safe environment for children to participate and improve in local cricket. We run 5 colts age groups; kwik cricket for under 11's and U14. We are lucky to have a great team of coaches and managers who have completed various ECB courses and certificates.
