On the 19th July 2018 a true club legend Peter Brown was taken from us sadly far to soon! Over the years achieving some breathtaking stats.
Those who have played games with and against Peter will know he was one of the best wicket keepers in his time! A true friend and comedian that the club and members will never forget. Abberton Cricket Club & Team just want to stress the importance of talking to each other. Mental health is nothing to be ashamed of! However the stats show we are frightened to talk. Men die by suicide 3.6 times more often than women and on average, there are 123 suicides per day. There are 6 months a year at least playing cricket together. The club really wants to empathise that we are all there for each other we are not just a club we are an extended family! If anyone is going through a tough time please just talk to someone.
This Chairmans Day we dedicate all proceeds from the cricket game and fundraising events to you MIND charity in loving memory. If you would like to dontate any prizes, gifts or make any donations please contact club chairman Marc Fox via our contact page or via Facebook
